DENG Hao

Dr. Deng Hao, is associate professor, master supervisor and researcher-level senior architect in Architecture School of Southeast University. He has been research in Urban Morphology in Department of Geography and Environmental Science in University of Birmingham as a visitor scholar since Sep. 2009 to Sep 2010. Now he is the corresponding member of UMRG in University of Birmingham, the Communication referee of the journal 《Urban Morphology》,which is very authoritative in the field. 

His main aims of research are Architectural design and theory , Urban Morphology and Urban Design, especially in Typomorphology which is used in practices of urban design and architectural design. He is insisting on that architectural design should be combining theory and practice together. Prof. Deng Hao’s researches have received academic attention. He was invited to speak open lecture at Peking University and Tongji University.

Dr. Deng teaches in architecture design and theory in undergraduate grade 3 and 4 .The design teaching plan he carried out and students' work he directed have winned the award excellent lesson plans for the steering committee and the award for the best student work of the national architecture speciality repeatedly. At the same time, he is the leading teacher of master theory course such as “Type, Structure and Form” and “Sociology of Building technology”

Dr. Deng has presided over or participate in more than 50 complete planning and architectural design projects, most of are important cultural public buildings , won national or Provincial excellence design. In recent years, Prof. Deng Hao pays close attention to Chinese rural construction and renewal and the revival of old town,  have completed projects in Tibetan regions in Sichuan, Yunnan, Henan, Jiangsu and other places
