Zheng Xin, male, was born in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province in July 1958. He is Professor, Ph.D., and Doctoral Advisor from School of Architecture, Southeast University. He has served as deputy director of Architectural Research Institute of Southeast University (1997-2007), deputy dean of School of Architecture (2007-2012), director of Professor Zheng Xin’s Office of Architectural Design and Research Institute of Southeast University Limited (2016-), director of Professional Committee of Architectural Renovation and Urban Renewal of China Architectural Society, vice president of China Pen Painting Alliance, executive editor of Architecture and Culture and editor of Architects.
For a long time, he has been engaged in architectural design and its theory, architectural philosophy, landscape environment and architecture, urban design and other aspects of research work, lectured on the doctoral degree course Architectural Philosophy, participated in and presided over more than 50 projects of architectural design, urban design engineering, won two international design awards, 8 national awards, 14 provincial and ministerial awards.
He has published four monographs such as Modern Philosophy, Modern Architecture: Philosophers’ Reflection on Architecture in the Period of Modern Architecture MovementArchitecture of Southern Jiangsu Famous Mountains, and two translated works such as The Bauhaus Team: Six Modernist Masters. He has published more than 20 academic papers in the core journals of China as the first author and newsletter, and 3 journals of A&HCI and SSCI. At the invitation of the Organizing Committee of the 24th World Congress on Philosophy, held in Beijing in August 2018, he served as the Chinese President of the Sub-Conference on Architectural Philosophy and gave a lecture entitled Architecture as a Full-scale Production: Inner Dimension and Freedom of Aesthetics.
