Research direction: nanjing classical garden design, landscape design technology and art, “field” and “scenery” of modern landscape design
Yang Donghui is an Associate Professor and Master Tutor from Department of Landscape Architecture of School of Architecture, Southeast University, and Dean of Landscape Architecture of Architectural Design Research Institute, Southeast University, and has been engaged in landscape architecture teaching, landscape design creation and related theoretical research for many years.
He has successively presided over and participated in the design of more than 100 projects, including the overall environmental design of the statue of Sun Yat-sen from Xinjiekou in Nanjing, the overall environmental design of the statue of Zhu Yuanzhang, the overall environmental renovation design of the historical block of Nanjing Confucius Temple, the environmental and node space design of the east street of Laomen in Nanjing, and the reconstruction design of the classical garden of Mustard Seed Garden, Nanjing Hexi Nanjing Youth Olympic Culture and Sports Park, Ziyun Lake Resort Planning and Landscape Design in Changzhou, Jiangsu, and Landscape Design of Jiangbei New District Financial and Commercial Street. He has won national and provincial excellent engineering design awards for many times, including the first and second prizes of Excellent Engineering Survey and Design Industry Award of Ministry of Education for many times, the first prizes of Excellent Design Award of Jiangsu Provincial Association of Survey, the second prize of National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design Industry Award of China, the outstanding award of IFLA (International Union of Landscape Architects), the gold and silver prizes of Municipal Landscape Design of the Organizing Committee of “Yuan Ye Award” International Competition.
He participated in the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the study of landscape restoration mechanism and model under the dual role of nature and society in the contemporary urban-rural fringe--a case study of southern Jiangsu Province. He has published 1 book, with many articles published in the core journal.
