Research direction: basic theories and methods of architectural design, new technology driven urban design and spatial form research, architectural heritage protection and urban renewal
ZHANG Yu received the doctor's degree from Southeast University and Delft University of technology joint program. He has been teaching undergraduate architectural design courses, theoretical courses and graduate theoretical courses, etc. As one of the key members of the national teaching team, he shared the first prize of the achievement of graduate education reform in Jiangsu Province.
He mainly uses new technology to drive cross-scale spatial form research, and then inspires innovation in the fields of architectural design, urban design, urban renewal and architectural heritage protection. Among them, the research progress related to digital urban design methods has been successfully applied to large-scale practical projects such as Guangzhou, Nanjing, Beijing Tongzhou, Zhenjiang, Changzhou, Wuhu and Hulunbuir, as well as the protection and renewal projects of historical cities and buildings, and won 2 first prizes and 1 third prize of national excellent urban and rural planning and design; Won 4 first prizes, 1 second prize and 1 third prize of provincial excellent survey (Engineering) design award. In addition, he won the second prize of the science and technology progress award of the Ministry of education with his collaborators.
He was in charge of and completed one general project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, one open project of the Key Laboratory of urban and architectural heritage protection of the Ministry of education, and participated in nearly 10 other national scientific research projects (including one key project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China). He has published more than 10 papers in core journals and has been cited more than 1000 times; He has published many papers at ACADIA, ISUF, IFOU, EBRA, DADA and other academic conferences at home and abroad. He has been authorized 1 national invention patent and 2 software development patents with his collaborators.
