Professor Hu has been teaching in the School of Architecture, Southeast University since 2001, give lessons to undergraduate and graduate mainly on the course of spatial information technology application in urban and rural planning, and once visited Monash University, Australia. As engaging in the research direction of spatial information technology application in urban and rural planning, Professor Hu is now focusing on the systematical application of GIS technology in the research of historical and cultural cities and historic blocks conservation planning in China. He has presided and participated in several key projects supported by the State Key Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. In terms of publications, Professor Hu has published more than 60 academic papers in domestic and foreign academic journals, and monographs including Research on the Application of GIS-based Historical and Cultural Cities Protection System, Research on the Application of Spatial Information Technology in Town System Planning, and translation of GIS and Cultural Resources Management. In addition, Professor Hu has achieved a second prize of National Science and Technology Progress and several provincial and ministerial awards.
