Wang Haihui, a registered urban planner, a member of Small Town Planning Committee of Urban Planning Society of China and a member of Small Town Planning and Design Committee of Jiangsu Urban Planning Society, is mainly engaged in the study and teaching in urban and rural planning and design and associated theories.
He has led and participated in dozens of planning, design and special research programs, including master plan for city, master plan for town, master plan for industrial park, coordinated urban and rural planning, rural community planning, planning for beautiful villages, master plan for territorial space, etc. His design achievement has won the national excellent survey and design award of urban and rural construction system in 2018, the excellent survey and design awards of urban and rural construction system in 2006 and 2016 in Jiangsu Province, and his teaching achievement has won the 2017 curriculum innovation competition award of the professional steering committee.
He has led two NSFC funded programs, i.e. A Study on Intensive Planning for Rural Space in Southern Jiangsu from the Perspective of Policy Analysis (2011-2014) and A study on Capital Driven Rural Spatial Change and Planning Response (2019-2022), and participated in several programs funded by the Foundation. He has published the book Policy Analysis on Intensive Use of Rural Space in Southern Jiangsu, participated in compilation of two textbooks and published many papers on professional journals.
