FONDAMENTA

Milan-based FONDAMENTA was founded by Francesca Gagliardi and Federico Rossi. Strong is the belief in research and experimentation applied to construction where building is the end to which architecture must strive to become itself and technology the tool used to reach this result. FONDAMENTA questions conventions and supports contradictions. Fascination for structure and freedom from dogma represent the premises for the research; Structure traces space, organizes the program and generates the building. Governance of architecture through technology is believed to be the key to the creation of an organism. Technology drives efficiency, precision and control through the entire process.

In 2019 the studio completed its first new construction, the Winery of Monforte d'Alba, and is dealing with different scale projects and International competitions. Surrealism reigns supreme. FONDAMENTA believes in synergies between professional and academic worlds. Invited to lecture and publish on several international institutions and platforms, starting from September 2022 FONDAMENTA is teaching as Academic Guest at ETH Zurich with the course The Economy of the Project.

STUDIO DAVID KLEMMER

David Klemmer, 1986 studied architecture at the University of applied sciences FH Joanneum as well as at the Technical University in Graz. Since 2012 he has been working both as an architect and digital photographer. In collaboration with renown offices he constructed and staged computed images, including works for Valerio Olgiati, Miller Maranta, Jean-Pierre Dürig, Bruther, Karamuk Kuo or Jan Kinsbergen. He taught image-making at the University of Liechtenstein and at the chair of Gigon Guyer at the Federal Institute of Technology ETHZ. Among other institutions he was invited as a guest critic or lecturer at the EPFL Lausanne, at the FHNW Winterthur or at the Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio. In 2017 he opened his own office as a binary platform for architecture and images. In 2022 Studio Diode was established as an independent satellite solely dedicated to the digital production of images.

VG13 Architects is the practice led by Tommaso Fantini and Alberto Rossi. They invest themselves in every project they work on, always engaging in an intellectual research throughout which they are able to realize their idea of architecture. The aim, nonetheless, is never theoretical, but focused on creating buildings of striking quality that can have an intrinsic value of beauty and solidity. Each of their project stakes its premises from a precise intention and become defined through a caring constant work. Along the process they are definitely influenced by various external aspects-being them climatic financial legislative..., but never to extent in which our intention is no longer evident and visible. The office has build in ltaly, Switzerland and Morocco and has won awards and prizes in international competitions. The office has led a design studio at Universita Federico ll in Naples and is actively involved in teaching. Tommaso is assistant and researcher at USI--Academia di Architettura in Mendrisio and Alberto is teaching assistant at ETH in Zurich. Both have been guest critic at universities and workshops across ltaly and Switzerland in Several occasions. Both Tommaso and Alberto graduated from USI-Accademia di architettura in 2017, respectively with Walter Angonese and Valerio Olgiati.
