Wu Jinxiu received her Bachelor of Architecture degree from Southeast University in July 1995, was exempted from the qualification of master’s degree and doctoral degree. She received her Ph.D. in Architecture from Southeast University in May 2000 and began teaching in the School of Architecture of Southeast University in the same year. She won the second prize of Southeast University Young Teachers’ Lecture Competition in 2002, and conducted cooperative research as a visiting scholar at Harvard Design Institute from 2006 to 2007. In 2009, she was awarded the qualification of one-star and two-star green building evaluation mark expert in Jiangsu Province. In 2011, she was awarded the qualification of green building evaluation mark expert by the Ministry of Construction, and in 2012, she was awarded the Excellent Paper Award by the Chinese Architecture Society. In 2013 and 2016, she won the Excellent Teaching Plan Award of the National Architectural Specialty Steering Committee, and in 2014, she won the Excellent Guiding Teacher Award for Overseas Exchange of Chinese Architectural Universities. She presided over and participated in a number of Sino-foreign joint design teaching and practice projects in cooperation with world-class institutions and firms.
In academic research, she has been committed to the sustainable development of architectural design theory and people-oriented landscape planning and design and theory and other areas of research and practice. She has presided over 2 projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, with main participation of 3 projects (the second applicant), participated in 1 science and technology support project of the Ministry of Science and Technology during the 11th Five-Year Plan period, 1 science and technology support project of the Ministry of Science and Technology during the 12th Five-Year Plan period, 1 of the national key research and development projects in the 13th Five-Year Plan period, 1 project supported by the Doctoral Research Fund of the Ministry of Education and 3 projects supported by the Science and Technology Department and the Construction Department of Jiangsu Province and presided over 1 project supported by the State Key Laboratory of Subtropical Architecture of South China University of Technology and 2 projects supported by the Key Laboratory of Urban and Architectural Heritage Protection of the Ministry of Education of Southeast University. She has published more than 40 papers in academic journals at home and abroad (including 1 SSCI paper) and 5 related works (among which Urban Housing Design was awarded the second prize of Excellent Science and Technology Books of the 21st East China Science and Technology Publishing House). She has participated in many important international and domestic academic conferences and delivered speeches at the congresses.
