Professor Li has coached at School of Architecture, Southeast University since 2006. He has engaged in teaching undergraduate and graduate students of Landscape Architecture Design and Theory courses, and been a visiting scholar in Rome University. He serves as the Education Committee Member of Chinese Society of Landscape Architecture, Specialist Committee Member of Teaching Materials and Resources for Landscape Architecture Specialty in Chinese Colleges and Universities, Secretary General of Jiangsu Landscape Architecture Specialties Society, and expert reviewer for Landscape Research, Educational Sciences-Theory & Practice, Chinese Landscape Architecture, Landscape Architecture, etc.

His research focuses on contemporary landscape design theory and methods, and concentrates on a comprehensive study of regional practice and endogenous design theory. In recent years, he has presided over 10 national projects, undertaken 6 provincial research projects, including “On the Quantitative Space Performance for Contemporary Built Environment of New Chinese Stytle Landscape Using Large Sample Structural Equation Model” “Study on the Numerical Control Technology of Rural Ecological Landscape Environment ”, and compiled 1 monograph and 7 textbooks, such as “Urban Landscape Aesthetics Research, in the View of  Contemporary Ecological Concepts”. So far, He has hosted and participated in more than 20 design projects such as World Cultural Heritage, National Scenic Spot, National Forest Park, won 9 national and provincial design awards. Meanwhile, he has taken part in 10 educational reform projects, such as “Teaching Reform of Landscape Planning and Design Assisted by Digital Technology”, guided students to participate in more than 30 professional design competitions and won prizes.
