Yangyang Yuan is an Associate Professor at the School of Architecture, Southeast University, and a Young Scholar of Zhishan at Southeast University. She is also a member of the Theoretical and Historical Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Landscape Architecture and a Visiting Scholar at the University of Rome, Italy. She focuses on the forefront of landscape architecture discipline and engages in research, teaching, and practice in the fields of landscape planning and design, digital landscape technology, among others.

She has led the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Youth Science Project titled Parametric Design of Water Environment in Landscape Architecture and the sub-project of the National Key R&D Program of China titled Key Technologies for Ecological Landscape Construction in Rural Areas. She has also participated as a key member in the NSFC Key Project titled Theory and Methods of Urban Green Space Planning under Low Impact Development and has contributed to the completion of various national and provincial research projects, including the NSFC General Project titled Parametric Design Method for Landscape Architecture - Vertical Design as an Example and the research on Quantitative Techniques-Based Intensive Landscape Design Method.

She has received the First Prize of the China Construction Science and Technology Award and the Second Prize of the Excellent Scientific and Technological Achievements by the Chinese Society of Landscape Architecture. She has published the monograph Parametric Landscape Architecture Planning and Design (published by Southeast University Press) and has contributed to the compilation of Technical Guidelines for Sponge City Road Greening Construction in Jiangsu Province (published by Southeast University Press) and Landscape Architecture Data Collection (published by China Architecture & Building Press). She has published around 30 papers in top-tier journals and SCI-indexed papers, including Process, Logic, and Model: Analysis of Parametric Landscape Architecture Planning and Design and Quantifying the relationship between urban blue-green landscape spatial pattern and carbon sequestration: A case study of Nanjing's central city. She has been granted 2 national invention patents and 2 software copyrights. She has led and participated in dozens of key projects at the provincial and municipal levels and has received over 20 provincial and ministerial design awards, including the National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design First Prize and the Jiangsu Provincial Excellent Engineering Design First Prize.

She teaches 5 professional courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including Landscape Planning and Design III, Principles of Landscape Architecture Design, Digital Landscape Technology, and Fundamentals of Architectural Design. She has been actively involved in the construction of the First Batch of National First-Class Undergraduate Courses and the Second Batch of National First-Class Undergraduate Courses. She has led 3 university-level teaching reform projects and developed 1 exemplary course on Course Ideology and Politics.
