Prof. Chu-Joe Hsia received his Ph.D. of architecture from University of California, Berkeley (1987); received master of architecture from Yale University(1975) and master of Urban Design from Harvard University(1977). Prof. Chu-Joe Hsia was the former Director at the Graduate Institute of Building and Planning, National Taiwan University (2005-2011). He also served asthe Yixing Chair Professor at Nanjing University (2013-2016), and now is the Distinguished Fellow, International Conference of the International Forum on Urbanism (IFoU).
His fields of study mainly focus on the following five aspects: architecture, urban design and planning; historicconservation; urban studies; urban sociology; histories and theories of architecture and urbanism.
