Research direction: theory and method of public architectural design urban design theory and method 

Han Dongqing is a Secretary-General of Ministry of Education’s Steering Committee on the Teaching of Architecture, Standing Director of Architectural Society of China, National First-Class Registered Architect, Vice Chairman of the Editorial Board of Architectural Journal, member of the Editorial Board of Architects, and Jiangsu Design Master. He undertakes undergraduate course teaching of architectural design and urban design, teaching of graduate course “Architectural Design Theory”, engagement in public architectural design creation, and research on theory and method of urban design.

He has successively presided over more than 40 architectural engineering design projects and more than 20 urban design projects, and won more than 20 provincial and ministerial excellent engineering design awards, including 2 first prizes of National Excellent Engineering Survey and Design Industry Award and 2 first prizes of Excellent Architectural Engineering Design Award of Ministry of Education. He was awarded 1 first prize of the Natural Science Award of Ministry of Education (ranking third), 1 second prize of Science and Technology Progress Award (ranking second). In 2018, he won the Architectural Education Award of Architectural Society of China. He has participated in 4 international and domestic design work exhibitions.

He has successively presided over 2 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and 1 subproject of national key R & D plan of the 13th Five-Year Plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology. He has published 5 academic monographs and 2 translations. He has published more than 80 academic papers.
