Hu Pan is the Associate Professor and the master tutor of Urban Planning Department at the School of Architecture, Southeast University (SEU).Her research concerns are the spatial planning and governance of public service facilities, industrial development and planning, and urban & rural territorial space planning. Professor Hu achieved a Bachelor degree in Urban Planning from Nanjing University, a Master degree and a Ph.D degree of Urban Planning and Design from Southeast University. She started her career at School of Public Administration, Nanjing Agricultural University from 2013 to 2020.

Professor Hu is a national registered urban planner, a core member of the sustainable Industrial Space Planning and Design Innovation team of the Ministry of Natural Resources, a director of Jiangsu Society of Urban Economics, and a researcher at the Institute of Socialist Development with Chinese Characteristics of Southeast University.

In recent years, Professor Hu has obtained and participated a number of research grants from the Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Social Science Foundation of China,the Humanities and Social Science Foundation of the Ministry of Education to the Key Think-tank Foundation of Jiangsu Province. She has published one monograph and more than 20 journal articles in high quality peer-reviewed journals. She had won the award of youth Planner Paper Competition of China Urban Planning Association, Outstanding Award in the Young Teachers Competition at the school-level.  She had guided the students to participate in the Territorial Space Planning Skills Competition of Jiangsu Province and won the first prize for two consecutive years.(2021 and 2022)

In practice, She has also participated in strategic integrated planning projects such as Jiangsu Province territorial space planning, Xuzhou territorial space planning and Nanjing Liuhe District urban and rural master planning, as well as several research projects including industrial planning and development and public service facilities planning at different levels.
