Research direction: Architectural History and Theory;Garden History;Urban and Architectural Heritage Conservation
Shao Xingyu received his Ph.D in Architectural History and Theory from Southeast University in 2022, and was an academic guest at Institut für Geschichte und Theorie der Architektur (gta), ETH Zürich between 2019-2020. Currently his research interest focuses on the history and theory of East Asian gardens, modern transition of Chinese Architecture, as well as urban and architectural heritage conservation.
He has participated in 2 national and 2 provincial scientific research projects, published more than 10 papers in core journals such as Architectural Journal, Chinese Landscape Architecture, Time Architecture, etc., and is also one of the translators of Chinese edition of Words and Buildings. He has participated in a number of important practice projects, including the exhibition project of ‘Gardens of the City’ in the 11th Jiangsu Garden Expo and the overall urban design of Nanjing (2018-2035). His design works have won the 2014 Vectorworks Design Scholarship (Winner of China Region), the 2021 Stream Garden Micro Building International Competition (First Prize), and so on.
