Research direction: regional development and territorial space planning, rural development, urbanization and urban-rural integration
Tao Anjun, born in Nanjing in 1985, graduated from the School of Geography and Marine Science, Nanjing University in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in geography; from the Institute of Geographical Sciences and Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2011 with a doctor’s degree in human geography. He is now an associate professor of the School of Architecture, Southeast University, a member of the Rural Planning and Construction Committee of Urban Planning Society of China, and a member of Young Technologists & Scientists Association of Jiangsu Province.
Doctor Tao has participated in such major strategic planning projects as national planning for main functional area, national master plan for Wenchuan earthquake reconstruction, planning for main functional area in Hainan Province, planning for main functional area in Shanxi Province, national master plan for Yushu earthquake reconstruction and planning for territorial space in Jiangsu Province, as well as master planning and master urban design projects for many cities. The projects which he completed as the principal won one second prize of the science and technology progress award of the Ministry of Education, one first prize of the national excellent urban and rural planning and design award, and five provincial and ministerial excellent urban and rural planning and design awards.
In recent years, doctor Tao has led or completed 3 national-level programs including of national key R & D sub-program during the 13th Five-year Plan Period and NSFC funded program, published more than 10 papers on domestic and foreign journals, published 1 monograph, and participated in the compilation of 7 monographs and textbooks.
