Research direction: design and research of urban human living environment for sustainable development, research on the housing and community renewal in the aging society, theory and design of open architecture
Bao Li is the Secretary-General of the Architecture Sub-Committee of the Ministry of Education’s Steering Committee on the Teaching of Architecture, Coordinator of the International Council for Research and Innovation Building and Construction (CIB), member of the China Green Building Council, Director of the Urban Design Branch of Architectural Society of China, member of Special Committee of Library Building And Equipment of Library Society of China, and Associate Doctoral Tutor of Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich. She mainly engages in architectural design and teaching, research and practice related to urban design.
She has been committed to the systematic reform and practice of the cultivation of innovative talents in architecture for a long time, and actively expands international exchanges and cooperation. She is the backbone of national-level teaching team, national excellent resource sharing course, and the leader of provincial excellent teaching team. As the main finisher, she has successively won the first prize of national-level excellent teaching achievement, the special prize of provincial excellent teaching achievement of Jiangsu Province, the first prize of postgraduate training mode reform achievement of Jiangsu Province. She has presided over and participated in 9 national and provincial key teaching reform projects. She has edited and published 2 sets of teaching and research series, 5 textbooks, and guided her students to win 1 first prize of UIA. She was awarded nearly 20 national student competitions, and 3 times of provincial excellent tutor for excellent graduation projects (teams).
She carried out research on the green construction strategy of traditional settlements, community renewal and community construction in the aging society in China in earlier period. In recent years, she has presided over and participated in 16 major scientific research projects such as the subjects of 12th Five-Year Plan and 13th Five-Year Plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology, key projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China and National Social Science Fund of China, key research subjects of Humanities and Social Sciences Research of the Ministry of Education, Sino-Italian international cooperation research projects, and 4 provincial and ministerial building codes and standards, including those of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People’s Republic of China and the Ministry of Civil Affairs. Her achievement was awarded the first prize of Huaxia Construction Science and Technology Award. She has participated in the 2017 Achievement Exhibition of International Union of Architects (Seoul), published 2 translated works, and published more than 20 related papers in core journals at home and abroad.
She emphasizes the integration of industry, education and research, and has presided over a number of engineering practices, including public architecture design, residential planning and design, village and town planning and urban design. Her works have been awarded the first prize of Demonstration Community of the First National Comfortable Housing Project, the first prize of the completion category of the 6th Shanghai International Young Architect Works Exhibition, the first prize of Jiangsu Architects Cup for 3 times, and excellent award of the 9th China Weihai International Architectural Design Competition and others.
